Center for Revival of Indigenous Art ( CFRIA ) is a voluntary, non-profit organization that is committed towards preserving indigenous art practices in India. Its aim is to revive, preserve and support declining indigenous art practices, most significantly concerned with the economic regeneration of the artist community.
The Center plans to achieve its objective by educating the artisans about the value of their contribution, creating opportunities to further their aesthetic understanding and to foster continuity of the tradition.
It also endeavors to develop a sustainable archival base that would promote and provide continuity in learning and preservation of the art form.
The Center is primarily concerned with identification of select art and will focus on facilitating the artisan keeping in mind the socio cultural demands.
In course of time it aims to build a community of artisans who are empowered with knowledge to create and market their products. Besides sustaining the older generation of artisans the Center would aid in shaping successive generations of artisans. It endeavors to empower the younger generation to emerge economically and culturally strong.
